High Powered Access Points are fitted with a signal booster which (according to the manufacturer) improves the range of a standard 802.11g-Client-unit by up to 70 % and enhances all-round performance by up to 50 %.

The Access Points are installed with DD-WRT software and come pre-configured.
DD-WRT software offers you stability and many other functions.

This access point together with Hotspot Server gives you as the customer many advantages, which are described below.

Every access point features an open network (Hotspot) and a hidden private network(LAN). Customers and guests connect with the Hotspot network and as soon as they wish to surf the internet, they will receive a welcome/login screen, so the can login first.

Clients can only connect to the private network of the access point if the network name is known (hidden by default) as well as they own WPA code. As soon as the client has successfully signed in they can then access the internet and exchange data with other LAN clients.

All devices are pre-prepared for network operation. This means that the access points have a unique IP and MAC address (prerequisites for network operation). Customers will receive a setup guide from us as well as all the necessary access data in case that you wish to change the default configuration.

The broadcast power level is set to conform to the EU-countries legislation. This can be increased or reduced according to your needs.

By holding down the reset button for 15 seconds the unit will be returned to its default configuration (as set by us and not the manufacturer).

You can deploy multiple devices in a single building. See below for an example of a three floor building with 2 Access Points on each floor.

Hotspot network with many access points

To save on cabling costs you can use the switch (built into all Access Points) to extend Cat5 cable (as shown in the graphic). If a network client does not have a suitable WLAN device attached, they can be connected to next available Hotspot via a network cable using either the LAN or Hotspot port.

If you are able to provide for each access point with its own Cat5 cable then you can power the device with Power over Ethernet (PoE). Please have a look at a suitable PoE & WLAN Solution.

All access points are pre-configured and labelled so that you only have to position and connect up the units.
The following configurations can be optionally pre-configured for you as required (send the following infos via email or when ordering): Username, Password, WPA_Key, Start_IP-Address, Public_SSID_Name, Privat_SSID_Name, Hide_Privat_SSID ...

All settings supplied to us for pre-configuration will be hard programmed into the firmware. A manual hardware reset will restore these (your) settings.
This service costs a flat rate fee of €95 per order independent of the number of units.
